The apocryphal gospels are gospels written in the early centuries of Christianity (including canonical, but these were not subsequently accepted by The Catholic Orthodox Church). Within the Gnostic Gospels we also count on the gospels of Jesus Christ’s infancy and of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. Then we also have the Gospels of the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, also banned by the Catholic Church. And finally, we have many other gospels difficult to classify as the gospels of St. Peter, St. Mark, and even St. Judas.
