Is ex-sex a good idea? Part 2

September 23, 2010 By: romeblogger Category: Rome

Really, what’s the problem?  I mean it’s nothing you haven’t done before. It’s clear that just a hint of a proposal will have you looking for a comfortable haystack to roll in within two seconds.   As this reunion takes place, you can imagine the love of your life-knight in shining armour- carbon copy of your mother pathetically whispering how much they love as they come.  Guilt is indeed a torment, but you ignore it. You feel like a teenager.  Of course, you know that at some point you’ll have to wipe the sweat off your brow and scuffle back to your abode, groceries in tow, where the love of your life patiently awaits you.

The problem, whether you choose infidelity, or find the strength to momentarily break the nostalgic spell cast by your ex´s presence.  It’s really not so difficult, all it takes is saying “It was great to see you, you’re great and I’m happy for you, but I gotta run, my S.O. is waiting at home for me.” Deep down we all know that feeling overwhelms you when making this decision,  and though you may know you’ve done the right thing, you feel a different taste in your mouth, the lights seemed to shine stronger  for a second  as your memories passed before your eyes  but as conventional wisdom says, best to let the sleeping dogs lie.

What to do when a former partner appears in your life? Well, I’m not the one for giving advice, and really, who is.  But keep in mind, choose what you choose, do what you can to avoid feeling regretful or miserable, enjoy your life and love which is the most important thing in life.

One way to enjoy life without regrets is to rent apartments in Rome. All roads lead to Rome and all roads lead to love!.

The Relapse Diary: Reflections on ex-sex part 1

September 17, 2010 By: romeblogger Category: Rome

Some of us are really lucky.  We have great partners who give us stability, support us, and give all their love unconditionally. Somehow, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better something- or someone always comes along to destabilize your idyllic life together. Does this sound familiar? Maybe it hasn’t happened to you, but I’m sure everyone knows someone first hand who has suffered or enjoyed the after-glow of ex-sex.

There are you, happy with the best partner you’ve ever had, or so you think, and one of these guys steps in as you’re running errands or at the grocery store, and Boom! You feel someone tapping you with an eerily familiar touch and you think twice before turning around, knowing it’s not someone who wants to know where the detergents aisle is.  Game-over: there is the former partner with you’re your not even entirely sure why you broke up with, your aura suddenly fills with light and you feel younger than one suddenly as you say “hello, long time no see, how are things?  Fancy running into you here…”   You are stunned and barely know what to say.

Everything gets worse when you see how well this person has taken care of themselves, and you feel like you are melting like a candy. “Well, I’m fine,” they say “Really enjoying being single and doing great!  We should have coffee sometime…” Aiiiii, You think once, you think twice, you look left and you look right, and finally  you  agree, knowing the conflicts it could cause, but after all it’s just a cup of coffee…

Avoid complex situations, rent apartments in Rome and enjoy love!.

Immortal – Gino De Dominicis Expo in MAXXI

September 10, 2010 By: romeblogger Category: Rome

Gino de Dominicis was an Italian artist obsessed with immortality and the unseen, that’s to say, things which are able to transcend the earthly and human realm. He has become an invisible artist, whose presence is only manifested in his work, in the here and now. Always absent, he avoided the press at all costs and refused to give permission for his work to be reproduced in photographs, so it is quite hard to find photographic material documenting his work.

His obsession with the ethereal and metaphysical realm reached such extremes that at his exhibitions the works themselves reserved  the right to remain anonymous, as in general they did not bear  titles or other data that would help the viewer to categorize and pigeonhole the works, albeit minimally. De Dominicis, and his art, until now, have been shrouded in mystery. His artistic interventions made use of different types mediums and techniques, and included work on wood, paper, canvas, sculpture and installations. Another key part of his broad language of art, besides his remarkable fascination for the human figure, is his reference to characters from epics like Gilgamesh, the Sumerian king seeking immortality, or Urvashi, the Hindu handmaiden of the gods.

De Dominicis, unfortunately, was never able to overcome his own death. He died prematurely in 1998, leaving behind a great and inspiring legacy, a strong picture that pays tribute to the beautiful, esoteric, secret world beyond the palpable.

The “The Immortal” at the newly minted  MAXXI in Rome presents the first and most comprehensive retrospective of this extraordinary artist’s works, and visitors can enjoy it until 7 November. The exhibit will explore more than 130 works which delve passionately into themes such as immortality, metamorphosis, evolution, the invisible, the anti natural, and that magical time suspended between past and future.
Rent apartments in Rome and discover the great mysteries of this fascinating artist.

Vatican Museums devote a room to Henri Matisse

September 08, 2010 By: romeblogger Category: Rome

Henri Matisse, who was born in France in 1869 and died in 1954 in the same place, was a painter who became famous for the original shapes and fluid use of colours found in his paintings. He was a multifaceted artist who traversed the worlds of drawing, printmaking, sculpture and painting. He is recognized as one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century; and even though in the beginning of his career he was associated with the Fauves, in his 20´s he was already noted for his use of colour and the expressive fluidity of his drawing style.

The Vatican Museums will devote a room to the artist’s only religious production which was donated to the Holy See in 1980 by painter’s son Pierre, and if all goes as expected; it will be opened end of the year, although the exact date is still unknown.

The work in question has elements of the Rosary Chapel belonging to the Dominican Nuns of Vence in France, and was made by Matisse three years before his death.

The show room, in addition to the work of Matisse, will be decorated with a bronze cross on the steeple, sacred figures, an altar made of stone and various decorations. In addition there will be three five-meter designs that showcase the Tree of Life and letters given by the Mother Superior with which the painter wrote.

If you want to enjoy the only work related to the Catholic Church by Henri Matisse, you can rent apartments in Rome and visit this special new room in the Vatican Museums.

The female orgasm is possible without physical contact

September 01, 2010 By: romeblogger Category: Rome

Contrary to common belief, women can reach orgasms easily only using their brains, which, as scientists (and my own mother!) say, is the most powerful sexual organ in the body.

female-orgasm

For a lot of men, female orgasm is a true mystery and an extensively discussed subject between male friends and experts. And the only reason for these long debates about the female orgasms is, ultimately, a misunderstanding of female sexual pleasure itself and myriad misconceptions about female sexuality. Many think that you just have to find the “right” way of touching and caressing the female body in order to make women reach an orgasm.

But new studies have shown what nobody has even dared to think about: female orgasm is possible without any form of physical contact. Researchers from Rutgers University have found strong evidence that show that women can reach an orgasm only through mental stimulation. This was revealed in magnetic resonance tests showing that a woman who was aroused presented specific brain activities.

The woman investigated for this study was Barbara Carrellas, who started this practice in 1980 after the USA was hit by the AIDS crisis. Carrellas saw many colleagues and friends die of AIDS, so she decided to investigate different ways of reaching an orgasm without necessarily having sex.

But the idea of a connection between thoughts and orgasms isn’t something new. In the 70s the researchers Master & Johnson documented a connection between sexuality and thought, especially in women. In fact, Dr. Ian Kerner assured us that the brain is the most powerful sexual organ in the body.

If you are thinking about going on vacation then there’s nothing better that renting apartments in Rome to relax so you can focus on yourself and have fun.
