The smell of romance
Through intense study and analysis, the Monell Chemical Senses Center has come to an amazing realization: women have sharper noses than men. The study showed that females have a heightened sense of smell when compared to their male counterparts.
For this unique study, tiny droplets of sweat were collected. The vials of sweat were then sniffed by both men and women. The male and female subjects were then asked to rate the odor strength of the sweat mixed with thirty-two completely different fragrances. After smelling the fragrances one by one, only two of the fragrances stopped ladies from smelling the sweat. However, nineteen fragrances successfully blocked the odor of sweat from male noses.
